Lynne Clayton, Middle School Teacher
Lynne is from Benton Harbor, Michigan and has traveled throughout the United States, Mexico, and Italy. Formerly a licensed General Contractor with a decorative painting company, she fell in love with Montessori when her now fifteen year old daughter was an infant at Brookview School. She taught six - fourteen year olds Integrated Art prior to becoming a trained Montessori guide for the Upper Elementary classroom. She began teaching in the 9-12 yr. old classroom in August 2002. Her hobbies include making jewelry at her studio in Benton Harbor, reading, art quilting, building, and gardening.

Andy Sawyer, Middle School TeacherAndy was born in Panama. As the child of an Army family he moved to Bolivia, North Carolina, and Maryland before his family settled in the twin cities. He counts nine teachers in his immediate family and feels that education is in his blood. Andy has taught in schools in Michigan, Maine, Massachusetts, and Scotland. In addition to teaching he has also worked as a paramedic, firefighter, bus driver, construction worker, commercial baker, web designer, non profit Executive Director, photographer, journalist, writer, farmer, and stay-at-home dad. He considers himself to be both blessed and cursed with many passions including fly fishing, recreational tree climbing, photography, improv comedy, woodworking, backpacking, tree research, travel, canoeing, and boat building. Andy is also the father of three Brookview students.
