Meet Brookview's Board of Directors
The board is the guardian of the school's mission. It is the board's responsibility to ensure that the mission is relevant and vital to the community it serves and to monitor the success of the school in fulfilling its mission. Once a year, Brookview School holds an Annual Meeting of Members. The meeting is usually held in June.

Meet the Board....
Katie Kwon (President)
Katie and her husband Chris have two sons that attend Brookview. They have lived in St. Joseph for three years. Katie is a physician with Lake Michigan Nephrology, specializing in kidney diseases, dialysis and hypertension. For the 2009 - 2010 school year, she served as the editor in chief of Brookview's Family Guide to Berrien County. In her free time, she reads voraciously and enjoys turning produce from local farms into tasty jams, jellies and pickles.

Bill Korbel (Treasurer)
Bill is General Manager of Lost Dunes Golf Club in Bridgman. Previous to his work in the hospitality industry he was an accountant with Price-Waterhouse. He is a registered CPA in the State of Michigan. Bill has been an active Brookview parent for 6 years and been on the Board serving as Treasurer for 3 years. He is married to Laura and has two children, Hannah and Wil, attending Brookview.
David Ryan (Secretary)
David and his wife Kate have a daughter Reece that attends Brookview. Before moving to St. Joseph from Columbus Ohio, he was a co-owner of a company that designed and built sets for television commercials and news stations as well as exhibits for museums. Currently he enjoys remodeling their home as well as boating, biking and snowboarding.
Leslie Sullivan
Leslie is the former Development Director of Poets House, a national literary center and poetry library in New York City. She is also an Emmy nominated documentary filmmaker with her most recent film focusing on the work of a pioneering elementary school teacher. She established Brookview's Seeds of Tolerance program and has led Shakespeare workshops for our elementary school students. She and her partner Ann have two children, Grace and Harry who attend Brookview.
Marc Thrum
Tamara Samuels
Tamara has two children at Brookview. She has a degree in finance and marketing and has worked in the financial markets and the computer industry. She enjoys gardening, traveling with her kids, yoga and reading in her free time. She has volunteered in her community on the Chikaming Township Planning Commission and as the Parent/Family Volunteer Coordinator at Brookview.
Prafulla Shintre Prafulla and his wife Shefali have two sons, Ainesh and Animesh. Animesh attends Brookview's primary program and Ainesh has moved on to Middle School. Prafulla is a native of India and lived in Singapore before moving to the U.S. Prafulla enjoys travelling and reading. His work gave him the opportunity to move and live all around India and later, to move to Singapore and the U.S.which he considers to be a privilege and a blessing since it gave him and his family the opportunity to experience and appreciate different cultures.
