History came alive this week in Elementary Summer Camp!
This week our students explored hunting and gathering versus farming, formed a bartering market for trading resources based on biomes, and tried writing their initials in Cuneiform on clay tablets.
They also "experienced" the Ancient Egyptian social hierarchy, built pyramids out of sugar cubes, and stamped their names in cartouches.
Later in the week, they created their own Medieval coats of arms and studied the Renaissance, dressing up in costumes and painting their own version of the Sistine Chapel. All that plus pancakes from an Ancient Greek recipe, Armor turnips, and Colonial corn bread!
