Wishing Tree Dinner and Auction Coming

Wednesday, February 21, 2018

Our yearly celebratory Auction and fundraiser is coming up on March 10th!  In keeping with Brookview’s three-year rotating continent cycle (this year we are studying Africa and Asia school-wide), this year’s theme is African Safari—the food will be spiced with African and Asian flavors.  Many wonderful items will be available for purchase in our Live and Silent Auctions, including gift certificates from area salons and restaurants, a wine and music event in your home, tickets to Walt Disney World, and a fully stocked Liquor Cart that would make Mad Men’s Don Draper proud.  Please join us on March 10th from 5-10:30 for the party of the year.

Brookview Montessori School has begun the process of becoming accredited by the American Montessori Society.  We are currently a Full Member of AMS, a designation that is an honor in itself, requiring a Montessori-credentialed teacher in every classroom, three-year age groupings beginning in the Primary years, and other hallmarks of authenticity in Montessori education.

Accreditation is a two-year process involving an intensive self-study, which our faculty, board, and parent volunteers have begun.  We are hoping for a visit next Spring from the AMS Accreditation Committee.  The whole process is designed to assist high quality Montessori schools to achieve an even higher level of excellence.  Currently, only 3 schools in the State of Michigan have been accredited by the AMS.
