Pitch In - 2011 Annual Fund Campaign
“Why?” You ask. Sit down, we’ll tell you. Independent, progressive school. 130 students. A building to heat. Beloved teachers. A roof to keep. All around, parents are pitching in already, in myriad ways. You are coming up with novel fundraising ideas, pooling your splendid talents to launch or continue entrepreneurial projects to benefit our school and community: a family guidebook, family portraits, a county-wide film festival, cooking classes open to the public, a community 5K run, and an auction. Many of you have volunteered countless hours helping with our Slow Snack program, pulling weeds from the vegetable garden, feeding our new goat and sheep, or leading Literature Circles for eager young readers in the classroom.

For all of this, we applaud you. We know it is not easy to be a parent, let alone a citizen. And we know that together we can build a stronger school than any of us could alone. This year we are facing a budget shortfall of $126,000. * Between now and school year’s end we anticipate raising: $50,000 from our PITCH IN Annual Fund Campaign, and $76,000 from other fundraising initiatives. We encourage each family to participate at whatever level, their finances allow. Contributions from friends, neighbors and extended family are welcome. If you’re feeling brave, ask your employer if your business will offer a matching gift. Since — as parents — you know what you love about Brookview School, you are also our best advocate in the community. Join us in promoting Brookview to build enrollment to capacity. This is the surest way to bring our revenue in line with operating costs and strengthen our school for the future. Whatever you can contribute beyond your time and creativity, we accept with gratitude and appreciation, on behalf of your children and ours.
