Ian Rose

Tuesday, October 4, 2022

Our hearts go out to the family of Ian Rose, who passed away on September 28th, 2022.

Ian’s love of learning came alive in a Montessori environment. He studied at Brookview from kindergarten-7th grade after his move to the area from Tucson, AZ. Brookview, with its commitment to identifying each child’s best learning style was the perfect educational environment for Ian. Brookview also developed Ian’s lifelong love of the outdoors. Ian’s three sisters attended Brookview, and both of his parents served as president of the school board at various times.

Ian had relocated to Oregon in early August to begin his new life in the Pacific Northwest. He was so excited for his new life and saw endless possibilities for his future. Ian was 26 years old, and leaves behind friends and family who loved him, including parents Michel Rose and Lauren Strach; siblings, Brianna Quijada, Elizabeth (Matt) Stolz, and Anna Strach; and nieces and nephew Ivy, Adelaide and Jackson.

Ian's family has kindly set up a memorial fund at Brookview, where contributions can be made in lieu of flowers. Please click here to donate. Thank you.

Brookview State of the School Address

Monday, October 3, 2022

One of our traditions at Brookview is that the Executive Director gives a presentation during the month of September outlining the State of the School. This encompasses everything from our current financial picture, to Montessori philosophy, to upcoming events, to goals for the future.  Thank you to all who attended my presentation last week on September 27, 2022.

Larry Schanker, PhD
